# Print a Label for Each Box

> We ship 13,000 units in boxes of 550. I need a label on every box that says "Box 3 of 24" and how many are inside. How do I print them?

Missing Toolkit: Templates works out the boxes for each item on an invoice and prints one label per box. You enter how many fit in a box, and it does the counting.

## What you need

- A label template. Start from the free [box label template](/box-labels), sized for a 4 by 6 inch Dymo shipping label, or make your own in Word with the page sized to your labels.

## Steps

1. Add the box placeholders to your label wherever you want them, for example:
    - `Box ${BOX_NUMBER} of ${BOX_COUNT}`
    - `${BOX_QUANTITY} of ${BOX_TOTAL_QUANTITY} ${LINE_SKU}`
    - `${SHIPPING_ADDRESS}`
2. Go to **Templates**, click **Upload Template**, and set copies to **One label per box**. Save it.
3. Open the invoice and click **Generate Document**. Choose your label template.
4. Tick the items to label. Service items start unticked, since they don't ship in a box.
5. For each item, enter the **Units per box**. Missing Toolkit: Templates proposes the boxes, such as 23 boxes of 550 and one of 350.
6. Change any row if your last boxes hold a different amount. You can also remove a row or add one.
7. Click **Generate**. Every label comes out as its own page, in one file.

## Good to know

- An item you leave without box rows gets one label for its whole quantity.
- A partial shipment still prints. The total is shown next to the item's quantity so you can see the difference.
- Box labels print one invoice at a time. They aren't available in batch or scheduled runs.
